The View just began its 19th season and already it's off to an awkward start!

There are some new and some familiar faces joining Whoopi Goldberg at the table, including Candace Cameron Bure, Joy Behar and Michelle Collins. But there's also something very different about the table: the mugs.

"Well, hell guys, it's nice to be back," Whoopi began Tuesday morning's show. "I do think though that cups would be nice."

Confused, Behar asked Whoopi what was wrong because there were obviously coffee cups on the table.

"They're cups, but where are the pictures of the faces?" wondered Whoopi in response. "We used to have faces because people stuck around."

Co-host Paula Faris tried to bounce off of Whoopi's uncomfortable joke and said that they would all be sticking around for a while. Behar, on the other hand, took Whoopi's side, cracking, "Well, this is in case they want to get rid of any of us. They can just pull this off!"

Ahead of the show's premiere, Bure took to Facebook to ask for prayers to protect her from "mean" and "hateful" liberal viewers. "Please encourage me if you watch the show. Please tag The View on your social media outlets if you have anything kind to say about me or my viewpoint," she wrote Monday night.

"The majority of the feedback I get from The View audience is from liberals (whom I love) but are mean, hateful and downright nasty toward me. It's incredibly disheartening to read."

But it looks like the women of The View are keeping their heads held high.

Although the desk has seen many changing faces over the years, creator Barbara Walters said she was incredibly excited for returning and new hosts to sit at the table together.

"As The View embarks on a remarkable 19th season, I am extremely proud to see the legacy of smart and diverse women engaging in entertaining and thought-provoking conversation continue," Walters said in a statement.

We'll just have to wait and see if they receive their custom mugs!
