Dakota Johnson stepped out in New York City on April 15 with a chic, newly lobbed 'do and, we have to say, the bob length cut definitely fits the 50 Shades of Grey star. And don't worry, we're sure she'll grow out her locks in time for filming the second installation of the steamy series, should she and Jamie Dornan return to the franchise (really, we can't imagine otherwise).

Dakota wowed us during awards season with her sleek premiere picks and red carpet gowns, and her street style is growing us too: The actress debuted her chop while wearing another one of her minimalist-cool looks (this time a structured gray coat, black skinnies and burgundy brogues with a pair of round Sunday Somewhere Ned sunglasses).

This bob just adds to her downtown It Girl appearance, and frames her face nicely with those signature bangs. And OK—it's not braid-length, but it's still kind of sexy.
