Hard to believe it's been six years since The O.C. last aired, but stars Peter Gallagher and Ben McKenzie managed to catch up with each other recently and, by the 58-year-old actor's account, he couldn't have been happier.

Peter, who played idealistic public defender Sandy Cohen during the hit Fox series' run from 2003 to 2007, posted a twitpic of himself and the 34-year-old heartthrob, who played his troubled adopted son Ryan Atwood, posing for a photo at a show given by his singer-songwriter daughter, Kathryn Gallagher.

"Hey look who I ran into at @kathryng's show the other night! @ben_mckenzie! How great! I love both those kids!" tweeted Peter.

When The O.C. first premiered on Fox and viewers got a glimpse of the ups and downs of privileged teens and their families in the affluent seaside town of Newport Beach, it was something of a phenomenon, particularly by featuring buzz-worthy tracks from a slew of up-and-coming bands like The Killers and Death Cab for Cutie.

The story initially centered on Ryan's adjustment to living with the Cohens who become his legal guardian, his friendship with their son Seth (Adam Brody) and girl-next-door Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton).

After a strong first couple of years, the critically praised teen drama unfortunately suffered low ratings in its fourth season and was canceled.

But perhaps it's time for a cast reunion?
