An American group named One Direction that had sued the U.K.-based One Direction, Sony Music and Simon Cowell's record label for $1 million, filed a dismissal notice on Tuesday after alleging back in April that the British boy band's name was creating some serious confusion amongst its fans.
The plaintiffs' lawyer, Peter Ross, says both bands have reached an amicable agreement.
"My guys are very pleased," Ross told E! News.
However, contrary to several reports, the California group has not changed its name to Uncharted Shores, Ross added.
Meanwhile, One Direction—aka Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson—will release their sophomore album, Take Me Home, on Nov. 13. Before they do that, though, the guys will perform at the MTV Video Music Awards for the first time this Thursday.
