A dramedy about downsizing. A giddy show about show tunes. Yeah, we can't really find the connection, either.

In any case, George Clooney's Up in the Air led all films today with six Golden Globe nominations, while Fox's Glee got a jazz hand up on the TV competition with four nods.

Up in the Air will vie for Best Motion Picture, Drama against James Cameron's big and blue Avatar, Quentin Tarantino's big and loud Inglourious Basterds, the critically praised The Hurt Locker and the Oprah Winfrey- and Tyler Perry-endorsed Precious.

Glee's up for top comedy series opposite defending champ 30 Rock, fellow newcomer Modern Family and usual suspects Entourage and The Office.

Crowd-pleasers big and small marked the comedy film race, with (500) Days of Summer and The Hangover joining It's Complicated, Julie & Julia and Nine.

Big Love, Dexter and Mad Men all had three nominations each, and all are up for drama series, as is House and True Blood. Damages was the other top drama nominee, also with three overall.

Nine was second to Up in the Air with five film nods. It was followed by Avatar and Basterds, with four apiece.

The 67th Annual Golden Globes are scheduled for Jan. 17.
