When last we saw our favorite Upper East Siders on Gossip Girl, Serena van der Woodsen was heading to Fiji to find her dear old dad.

The mystery man who fathered the blond bombshell and her brother, Eric, has never really been mentioned—only as an aside in tales of their mom's various husbands and escapades—but it seems likely that he might finally become a living, breathing presence on the show next year.

So with all the other exciting casting announcements this week (Hilary Duff, Joanna Garcia), we got to wondering who might score the paternal part. We exclusively chatted up the van der Woodsen kids themselves, Blake Lively and Connor Paolo, and you'll never guess who they think should fill their papa's shoes...

The End of Friday Night Lights Isn't a Bad Thing

Kyle Chandler, Connie Britton, Aimee Teegarden, Friday Night Lights Bill Records / NBC

For the fans who worked really hard to keep Friday Night Lights on the air, don't fret. The announcement of the series ending after two more seasons isn't necessarily set in stone.

Although FNL star Connie Britton recently said the original two-season pickup would likely be the end of the show, she told us, "You never know—if it does do really, really well, maybe they would go on for more seasons."

So what do the possible final seasons hold for the Taylors and the rest of Dillon?

SYTYCD Top 14 Meet Aliens, Broadway, Classical Ballet ...and Katie Holmes

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, Top 16, Brandon Bryant, Janette Manrara, Jason Glover, Kayla Radomski, Ade Obayomi, Randi Evans, Melissa Sandvig, Evan Kasprzak and Vitolio Jeune. Bottom row L-R: Phillip Chbeeb, Kupono Aweau, Caitlin Kinney, Karla Garcia and Jeanine Mason Mathieu Young/FOX

So here's the skinny on the Katie Holmes stuff:

In announcing the establishment of the Dizzy Feet Foundation, an effort to provide scholarship opportunities for underprivileged dancers, Nigel Lythgoe was tickled to also announce that Holmes will be taking the stage for So You Think You Can Dance's 100th episode.

The actress (who's in on the foundation with Lythgoe, Carrie Ann Inaba and Adam Shankman) will be dancing in a Tyce Diorio-choreographed-and-directed tribute to Judy Garland on July 23 and donating her entire appearance fee to Dizzy Feet.

And as for the dancers not yet married to movie stars...

The voters have their work cut out for them, because most of the Top 14 really tore it up tonight—and a few season-five favorites may be in trouble.

But before Caitlin tried to mate with Jason, and Phillip got chained to Jeanine, and Ade scaled Melissa's balcony...Mia Michaels made Brandon cry.

The Bachelorette: Jake Spills More Dirt on Wes & Laurel Speaks Out

The Bachelorette, Jillian Harris ABC/CRAIG SJODIN

"Shall God strike me down with lighting if I am mistaken or he did not tell me that," former Bachelorette contestant Jake Pavelka told reporters this morning about his claims that fellow contestant Wes Hayden has a girlfriend.

For those coming in on this late, here's what's happening. On Monday night's episode (check out Trista Sutter's blog about it here), Jake returned to the show with the sole purpose of telling bachelorette Jillian Harris that Wes confided in him that he has a girlfriend. Jillian confronted Wes about it, in front of Jake, and Wes denied it. In the end, Jillian chose to believe Wes over Jake. And now all hell's broken loose.

Today, Wes' accuser speaks out and reveals more details to reporters about exactly what the Austin-based musician, who has been accused of being on the show to promote his new CD, told him. Meanwhile, the alleged girlfriend, Laurel Kagay, is setting the record straight on her own. Check out the drama…

American Idol: Kris Allen, Adam Lambert & the Gang Dish on the Summer Tour

American Idol, Top 10 Ray Mickshaw / FOX

As the American Idol top 10 rehearse day and night to get ready for their first tour, which kicks off Sunday, July 5 in Portland, Ore., one little logistical thing is bugging the boys.

"The guys' tour bus is overcrowded. There's only one bus for the boys and there are seven of us, and no, Adam and Kris don't get their own bus," Scott MacIntyre told us when we caught up with them at rehearsals last week. Before you think he's a squeaky wheel, all six of the other guys echoed that sentiment. Michael Sarver said, "I'm not gonna lie. I just wish it was part of the budget to have a third bus. It's like the testosterone tour this year. No one is looking forward to the cramped boys' bus."

Indeed, the girls have it easier with just three female contestants, a mom and a backup singer or two. "We got lucky," joked Allison Iraheta. "I feel bad for them!"

Read on to find out which contestant calls herself the "skanky one," which one disses the judges, which one has one tiny regret and what the American Idols Live Tour 2009 is going to sound like...

Eureka! Syfy's Smartest Show Is Back on the Map

Colin Ferguson, Eureka Liane Hentscher/Sci Fi

Eureka returns—finally!—to Syfy with 10 new episodes on July 10.

Breaching the security of Global Dynamics, star Colin Ferguson (Eureka Sheriff Jack Carter) and executive producer and cocreator Jaime Paglia answered some your burning Q's about America's smartest (and most secretive) small town.

Mariska in Muncie, Ind.: I am so excited for 10 all-new episodes of Eureka! Who will be the new big bad?
Says exec producer Paglia, "We wanted it to be something different, and to tie into a historical aspect of our characters and the town on a personal level. So instead of it being necessarily a person, it's a thing. We don't know what it is. The question is, is it from out there? Is it man-made? But it's coming toward Eureka, and we have to deal with it. And that allows us to bring in some new characters."

Friday Night Lights: Season Four Spells Disaster for the Couples of Dillon

FNL, Connie Britton, Kyle Chandler Bill Records/NBC

There's trouble brewing in Dillon, Texas, and it's not just caused by the literal split of the town. There are other splits coming, including a few of our favorite TV couples, who have some rocky roads ahead.

We sat down with Friday Night Lights' Connie Britton prior to her Conversations session at the SAG Foundation, and she dished what's in store for the citizens of Dillon in season four, which kicks off production on Sept. 2.

Check Out Five Sneak Peeks of 10 Things I Hate About You

Update, 8:33 p.m.: Where the hell have we been? You don't need sneak peeks, you need a link to the pilot, which is already available for free on iTunes. For the record, Ethan Peck doesn't say much for the first three episodes (there is, however, a great deal of sexy brooding), but we have it on good authority that he starts talking by episode four, and we are certain that your time investment will pay off eventually.

You loved 10 Things I Hate About You the movie, but will you love the TV series? The new 10 Things doesn't premiere until next Tuesday on ABC Family, but we've got five sneak peek clips right here to give you a taste of what it's about before the official launch.

Note: The most important of these sneak peeks, featuring Ethan Peck as Patrick Verona (the Heath Ledger part from the film), is inside. Suggestion: When you watch it, close your eyes and listen to his voice. (Then we dare you to tell us that Ethan doesn't sound eerily like his grandfather Gregory Peck!)
