Heroes is back!

The Sprint-MySpace Heroes season-three premiere party was last night in downtown L.A. at the Edison club, and let's just say they went all out.

The overall atmosphere was more like a big movie premiere or awards show than most TV events, complete with lots of screaming fans, not to mention paid extras in party clothes swanning about the red carpet to provide that extra shot of Hollywood glamour.

Here are the scoopy highlights you need to know about the soiree (and a behind-the scenes photo gallery)...

Greg Grunberg, Kristen Bell, David Anders and Robert Forster couldn't make it, but every other regular and several guest stars appeared to celebrate the new season, sign autographs for the fans and host the one-hour special that will lead into the two-hour premiere on Mon., Sept. 22.

  • According to Tim Kring, all the new characters fold into existing main character storylines, rather than having their own stories right off the bat. (Can I get a hell yes?)
  • Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (James Kyson Lee) are together again, on a quest for the mysterious "Formula" (the significance of which will be explained in episode five). According to Lee, their mission takes them to Bora Bora, Zimbabwe and lovely downtown Bakersfield, Calif.
  • According to Ali Larter, there is "something of a scientific basis" for the explanation of how Niki (who was killed in a fire in the season-two finale) and Tracy Strauss (her current character) appear to be identical.
  • According Malcolm McDowell, it was Linderman who recruited the Speedster (Brea Grant) to be a minion of evil.
  • It's OK with Adrian Pasdar if you want to call him President Petrelli.

Now, check back early and often between today and Sept. 22, because we'll have premiere-party bonus vids for you (including some quality time with Milo Ventimiglia, Adrian Pasdar, Zachary Quinto and Jack Coleman). Plus, an all-new feature here at Watch With Kristin: Translate Your Own Scoop!

(By the way, Translate Your Own Scoop comes in four delicious flavors: Spanish, Japanese, French and Korean, so start brushing up now!)

To tide you over though, between now and video fun times, check out the clip below for a smidge of adorable Hayden Panettiere talking to the crowd from the red carpet.

In case you can't hear her over the ecstatically happy crowd, Hayden said: "[The premiere is] the clip show, the first episode and the second episode. And we're doing 25 episodes this season—that about makes up for [the strike-shortened] season two."

Now, what do you want to see happen in Heroes season three? Post in the comments!
