Thursday's New Shows: Save 'Em or Sink 'Em?
Three new series premiered tonight: Life on Mars on ABC, Kath & Kim on NBC and Eleventh Hour on CBS. Did you giggle at Selma Blair's new comedy or swoon at Rufus Sewell's swarthy good looks? Will you be back for more of any of these series? Vote in the poll below, and then weigh in on the newbies in the comments.
Knight Rider: Save It or Sink It?
The new version of Knight Rider premieres tonight on NBC. Is it any good? I've seen the first hour, and I'm spilling on what's hot and what's not. (Spoiler alert: There's far more of the latter.)
Plus, get your chance to Save It or Sink It for yourself...
Fall's Best Bets, No. 1: Pushing Daisies and Chuck
Apologies for the delay in this post, but Friday's mail had a flood of new-series screeners (finally!) that I had to check out before I could safely go forward with my original No. 1 Best Bets: CBS' Eleventh Hour (an intelligent procedural, but nothing to write home about), NBC's Kath & Kim (absurd but giggle-worthy), Knight Rider (mostly just absurd) and My Own Worst Enemy (very intriguing, but not something I can toss up to the top of my list on 18 hours' notice).
Now, I know, my countdown of Fall's Best Bets is supposed to be about new series. Pushing Daisies and Chuck technically are sorta-kinda sophomore series, so they shouldn't be in the running, but truth told...there is so little to downright adore this season among the new shows, and more importantly, both of these shows are so fantastically recharged (dare I say better than ever?) in their new seasons, that I can't help but bend the rules. Not to mention, Chuck and Daisies are relaunching after a far-too-long break and far-too-short first season (because of the strike) and may very well be new to you...
Fall's Best Bets, No. 2: Fringe
What do you get when you cross J.J. Abrams with a couple of his writerly BFFs (Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman), toss in a respected Lost-alum head writer (Jeff Pinkner) and then mix in two awesome Australians and one of the wisecrackingest cuties to grace television in recent years?
Um, a mutant four-eyed marsupial baby from outer space, of course...
Fall's Best Bets, No. 3: Bad Boys vs. Blood Suckers (You Decide)
Commitment is hard, man. Especially for a TV season that, so far, has few good offerings. And that's why we can't decide which of fall's new badass cable series is the best, or at least, the least of all evils. We like these shows, but aren't totally sold yet on either. So, it's up to you to decide: outlaw motorcycle gang or nest of vampires?
Here's what you need to know...
Fall's Best Bets, No. 4: The Ex List
Thisclose. The Ex List was thisclose to being at the very top of our Best Bets for Fall TV list, right up until last Friday, when the news came down that woman-I-want-to-be-when-we-grow-up/girl-genius-at-large Diane Ruggiero (Veronica Mars) was leaving her position as show runner of the series due to "creative differences." Without Ruggiero's guidance, I'm sorry, but I'm not as convinced.
Unless...maybe it was all just a big misunderstanding?
Fall's Best Bets, No. 5: Worst Week
Time to start figuring out that TiVo lineup! And I am here to help (as best I can).
This week we're counting down the five new series that are Your Best Bets for Fall. As you may have gathered by now, this TV season is a wee bit tricky because (a) there are so few new offerings, (b) we press types have been shown so very little and (c) of what we've seen, quite frankly, there is so very little to be excited about.
Thankfully, though, there are a handful of series that are most definitely worth your time, and I recommend you set your DVR now to make sure you don't miss 'em, starting with my favorite grown man in Huggies...

Watch Vampires With Kristin?
Save It or Sink It is back! SOS will be making select appearances throughout the fall season in honor of certain special show premieres like tonight's launch of True Blood.
In case you missed my Sunday previews, True Blood is HBO's latest drama. It comes from the big brain of Six Feet Under creator Alan Ball, it's based on the fun Sookie Stackhouse novels and most important of all: It's all about vampires!
So is there a future for Watch Vampires With Kristin? Vote in the poll, and then post in the comments about True Blood (or, as we like to call it around WWK HQ: Vampire Porn), and tell me if you'll be watching in the weeks to come!
Stars You'll Love, No. 1: Joshua Jackson
Here he is: Mr. Fall TV! Joshua Jackson—bless his sweet and witty soul—is back on our TVs this season in Fox's fabulous new series Fringe, premiering Tuesday at 8 p.m., so when you say your prayers tonight, throw in a thank you to the TV gods for J.J.'s return, but for now, click in to see what he has to say about his new gig and about being back on a regular series.
Stars You'll Love, No. 2: Kyle Bornheimer
My countdown of fall TV stars I love continues to today with Kyle Bornheimer, who will make you laugh out loud (a lot) on his new show Worst Week. Click in to get to know him a little better and hear him explain his new show!
Stars You'll Love, No. 4: Shenae Grimes & Tristan Wilds
Our countdown of the Five Stars You'll Love this fall continues today with the introduction of 90210's young leads: Shenae Grimes and Tristan Wilds, who play the Midwestern Wilson siblings, Annie and Dixon, newly arrived in Beverly Hills from what the locals think of as the flyover states. Upon arrival they become overwhelmed, as you would be, by the madcap misbehavior of the local teen population.
Luckily for Beverly Hills, Shenae and Tristan are as charming, good-looking and grounded as they come, and they both have what it takes to anchor the CW's new flagship show and to show those rich kids how high school should really be done.
