T.R. Knight's Exit Now a Grey's Matter?

Are George O'Malley's days at Seattle Grace numbered?

T.R. Knight is apparenty trying to squirm out of his Grey's Anatomy contract amid reports of a growing frustration with his alter ego's storyline.

On Monday, the ABC publicity corps was pressed into damage control after Crazy Days and Nights, a blog written by an entertainment lawyer, cited a source saying Knight had already bid farewell to his hair and makeup people.

That prompted the network to issue the following statement last night: “T.R. has never walked off set in the middle of filming. He attended the table read today and will be shooting this week, like any other week of production.”

Then today, Entertainment Weekly reported show runner Shonda Rhimes was "working on the details" to accommodate the disgrunted actor and plot an exit strategy. ABC has in turn issued a "no comment."

Also mum is Knight, who was infamously outted in the midst of Isaiahgate. But given how little his George has had to do lately, we can definitely see him soon going the way of Dr. Hahn.
