Dancing Finally Down to Eight

After a week goes by with no elimination, DWTS boots a celeb based on two weeks' worth of scores and votes

One of the above performances didn't do it for the judges or for America and, combined with last week's scores and votes, wasn't enough to keep a certain celeb in sequins and spandex for another turn around the floor.

Find out who's headed home, right this minute, after the jump.

Rocco DiSpirito has served up his last dance.

The celebrity chef was booted from the ballroom Tuesday in what was technically his second ticket out in two weeks, following a flamingo (not flamenco)-esque samba that left us wondering…

Who dressed him?

"I have nothing but grateful feelings to the entire cast and crew," the gracious epicure said, thanking partner Karina Smirnoff in particular. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience…I know that teaching me to dance must be like pushing a stone uphill sometimes."

"I think for my final request," DiSpirito added, "I would love it if Bruno could show me how to make my hips move properly."

And then he did.

Also in the bottom two, this time after learning for sure that they had the second-lowest number of votes, were Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas, who, wouldn't you know, finally stepped up last night and performed a week-four-worthy tango—no gimmicks, no wigs, no weird May-December discomfort.

But the 82-year-old grandma and Mark Ballas' dad persevered to dance another day—either the jitterbug, West Coast swing, hustle or salsa, all of which are being added to the DWTS performance lineup for the first time.

Meanwhile, comeback kids Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer—finally praised rather than pooh-poohed for their edginess, on full display in a tight goth tango—were quickly squirreled away to safety, as were Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani because…well, in her fans' eyes, she can do no wrong.

"I think our outlook has changed—I think we were overthinking it the first few weeks," Bass explained backstage.

Good news was also given, in this order, to Brooke Burke and Derek Hough, Cody Lindley and Julianne Hough, Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo, Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson, and Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke.

Eight are left and will continue to hoof it out next Monday.

So, were you glad to see Rocco finally DiSpirited away? Were you shocked or did you bother to even watch, figuring his elimination was a done deal? Did Cloris deserve to be in the bottom two this week? Do share!
