You can't believe everything you read in the tabloids. Except for that part about Jennifer Lopez being pregnant, of course.

During what turned out to be the final date on their joint concert tour, the On the 6 chanteuse admitted Wednesday night that she and hubby Marc Anthony are expecting their first child together.

''We didn't want to say anything before because we didn't want to take away from the tour, but we're expecting,'' Lopez told the privileged 10,000-strong crowd at Miami's American Airlines Arena.

As befitting a legion of fans that has been besieged with a month of baby-bump speculation, reports based on "sources close to J.Lo" and lots of secondhand bean spilling, the audience promptly went nuts.

"I hope you don't mind," Lopez said coyly, looking at Anthony.

"No, I don't mind at all," the 39-year-old El Cantante star said, planting a smooch on his wife's belly. (Which, as we've now confirmed, is harboring a bump.)

This will be the duo's first child together. Anthony has three children—two sons and one daughter—from two previous relationships.

That was where the trail went cold, however, as Lopez opted not to say when the baby is due...or how many other babies are due to arrive at the same time.

E! Online senior editor Marc Malkin was told Wednesday, even before J.Lo made her impending motherhood official, that she and Anthony are expecting twins and that she has been stocking up on both pink and blue baby gear.

But while Lopez has had no trouble stocking the layette, attending to her own wardrobe is proving a bit more difficult than usual.

Roberto Cavalli (one of those bean spillers we mentioned) told People last week that fashioning outfits for star client Lopez has been "complicated" lately.

"Well, Jennifer Lopez, at this moment, she requests something very special because she is waiting for the baby," the Italian designer said. "It is so complicated, because every week she is getting bigger."

While there are still plenty of soft fabrics and flowing silhouettes to go around, Lopez, who may be getting bigger but doesn't look as if she's ready to burst, and Anthony have decided to pull the plug on their tour, rather than play upcoming dates in San Diego (which were already on hold because of the recent wildfires) and Puerto Rico.

"We're going away for a while," Lopez said Wednesday. We, as in all three (or four) of them.
