Swanson Skates into Trouble with Partner's Ex

Coming soon to a courtroom near you: Scuffling with Celebrities.

Kristy Swanson traded police reports over the weekend with Marcia O'Brien, the ex-wife of Swanson's fiancé and former Skating with Celebrities partner, Lloyd Eisler.

According to Constable Mike Menor of the Kingston Police Department in Ontario, Canada, the purported catfight took place on Friday. It was O'Brien who first reported it to police, leading to Swanson's arrest.

"It's a she-said-she-said type of thing. Pretty cut and dry really," Menor told E! Online.

The 37-year-old actress, best known as the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer, turned herself in Saturday night and was booked on a simple assault charge. She was released after posting $500 bail.

Swanson's camp quickly went into spin mode, claiming that it was O'Brien who threw down first. Swanson filed her own assault complaint on Sunday.

In a statement released to E! News, publicist Michael Sands, claimed O'Brien attacked as Swanson and Eisler dropped off Eisler and O'Brien's children. The couple had traveled north of the border to discuss custody arrangements with O'Brien at her residence.

"The child of Kristy Swanson and Lloyd Eisler was in the back child safety seat of the minivan along with Lloyd's two young children," Sands said. "Kristy was accompanying Lloyd on a scheduled parental visit to Kingston."

Menor said investigators took snapshots of both alleged victims' injuries.

According to Sands, Swanson sustained bruises and scratches to her back, left knee, arm and upper parts of her body.

For his part, Eisler blamed the row on his ex.

"I am sorry that my ex-wife is being so vindictive," the 44-year-old former champion skater said. "I left my wife, contrary to what other media sources have reported in the past. My ex-wife is trying to cover up the assault by falsely pressing charges with the local constable first."

O'Brien was equally pissed.

“For them to do something like this in front of my kids is horrendous,” she told Toronto's Globe and Mail, though she declined to discuss the incident in detail.

Eisler and Swanson met last year when they teamed on the ice for the Fox reality series. They soon coupled offscreen and the two-time Olympic medalist annouced he was leaving O'Brien, when she was eight months pregnant with their second child. Eisler and Swanson welcomed their first son, Magnus, in February.

Swanson and Eisler's relationship and his acrimonious divorce from O'Brien sparked controversy in the skating world. But he is no stranger to scandals: Eisler was given a one-year suspension from coaching in Canada after he allegedly sent a suggestive email to a 15-year-old female skater under his tutelage.

Aside from appearing in such films as Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Pretty in Pink, Hot Shots!, The Chase, Big Daddy and Dude, Where's My Car?, Swanson recently played an Anna Nicole Smith-like character on NBC's Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

The next hearing in Swanson's assault case is set for July 31.
