If Faith Evans completes rehab, the fallout from her recent drug arrest will just be a notorious memory.

The chart-topping R&B singer and husband Todd Russaw have agreed to spend 13 weeks in a drug-treatment program in exchange for halting any further prosecution in their drug-possession case.

If the duo completes rehab, which includes counseling and group therapy, and are not arrested again for drugs, the case will be closed, according to Fulton County District Attorney Office spokesman Erik Friedly.

"The drug charges will be resurrected, and we would proceed with prosecution if they do not complete the program," Friedly told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Referral to pretrial intervention is a very standard procedure in a first offender, simple possession case like this."

Evans, the widow of late rapper Christopher "the Notorious B.I.G." Wallace, and her record-producer husband were arrested last week in Georgia for possession of cocaine and marijuana after they were pulled over for a routine traffic accident.

Neither was charged for being under the influence of drugs, but Evans was rung up with having an improper tag and for violation of Georgia's controlled-substance act for having both the cocaine and marijuana. Russaw was charged with possession of powdered cocaine and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

At the time, a lawyer for Evans called the charges "absolutely ridiculous" and asked her fans to pray for her.

But it seems the Evans camp has changed its tune and decided to face the music.

Lawyers for the couple hammered out a deal with the prosecution over the charges and successfully presented it to the Fulton County Magistrate Court on Wednesday.
