The Riches Takes a Dive

Minnie Driver, Eddie Izzard, The Riches FX

At least Minnie Driver will have more time to spend with her baby boy.

A rep for FX confirmed to E! News Tuesday that the network has pulled the plug on The Riches, the critically lauded yet extremely niche dark comedy that starred Driver and Eddie Izzard as grifters who assume the identity of a dead rich couple and along with their kids move right into the deceased's posh neighborhood.

The Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated series premiered in March 2007 and lasted for 20 episodes over the course of two seasons, the second having only seven installments thanks to the writers' strike.

FX's move doesn't exactly come as a surprise: A source told E! News yesterday that the cancellation was coming, and Todd Stashwick, who plays Dale, murderous nutball cousin to Driver's Dahlia Malloy, blogged last week about the show's impending demise.

"Word came down. That word is canceled," the actor wrote. "Thank you everyone, all the passionate folks who were rooting for our return. Alas it will not be."
