Will and Kate may be putting their honeymoon on hold, but at least one couple's taking some time for themselves.

Following their vow swap on April 23, comedian Rob Schneider and his wife, Patricia Azarcoya Arce, jetted off to Taiwan for a week of relaxation, shopping and good food.

"Taiwan is a beautiful place where I have been many times promoting my movies." Schneider said, "When I was at the L.A. Dodgers' Taiwan Day, it reminded me of the island's friendly people and great foods."

Speaking of good food, the couple reportedly shared a romantic dinner at Taipei's famous Din Tai Fong restaurant where an insider dishes they enjoyed hand-made dumplings and Taiwanese-style chicken soup. The couple also enjoyed a handful of tapas-style selections including Stinky Tofu, oyster omelets and octopus at the city's Shilin Night Market, where hundreds of vendors prepare an enormous variety of plates by hand.

But Schneider also made sure his new bride got some time in at the trendiest fashion spots: "My wife has never been to Taiwan before, and I told her that a fashionista like her needs to visit Taiwan's amazing night markets," Schneider said.

Sounds like the perfect romantic getaway for a new couple. Rob and Patricia are said to be heading back home on Sunday. Hope they had a fantastic trip! Now if only a certain royal twosome would follow their example.
