Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?

For now, it's still Eminem.

But had the whole acting thing not worked out for Robert Pattinson, we might have seen him hit the rap stage.

R. Pattz admits he wanted to become a rapper, according to Monsters & Critics, and who do you think the actor admired?

"I was obsessed with Eminem when I was younger. When he first came out I was about 12 and fanatical about his Slim Shady CD. I think he's a genius," Pattinson said.

The 24-year-old told Top of the Pops magazine, "I've got a whole collection of tapes of me rapping from when I was 13! I wanted to be a rapper so there are hundreds and hundreds of tapes. They're very amusing!"

He even had his own crew: The Big Tub and the Tappy Cats. Not sure how much street cred that name would've gotten.

So what would the Brit boy rap about?

"Most of my rhymes were stolen off other people anyway," R.Pattz said. "They were all like, 'I was raised on these streets', which was a complete farce because I was actually raised in quite a nice area of London called Barnes."

Can't say we're too disappointed the rap career didn't pan out—we prefer to see our Rob onscreen.
