We knew Eddie Vedder was Team CoCo. Now we have more visual evidence.
The Pearl Jam frontman rocked the Seattle stop of Conan O'Brien's Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour, making a surprise appearance Monday night to serenade the former Tonight Show host as he turned 47.
Vedder took to the stage and performed two songs solo—the first was "Rise," from his 2007 soundtrack to Into the Wild; the second was a hilarious sing-a-long of John Lennon's "Oh Yoko" on a ukulele, replacing the refrain with "Oh CoCo."
"It's basically a little Valentine's Day card, or maybe a birthday card I made for Conan," Vedder (whose band was the first musical guest on O'Brien's Tonight Show) told the audience, "and if you sang along it would be like you signing the card."
Vedder then closed things out with a rousing cover of The Who's "Baba O'Riley," accompanied by bandmate Mike McCready. And O'Brien was suitably impressed with the Jam.
"Eddie Vedder's set at my show in Seattle last night melted my eyeballs," O'Brien later tweeted. "Seriously, I'm going to sue Eddie for boiling my ocular-jelly."
