After more than two weeks of silence, Casey Johnson's father, Woody Johnson, is opening up about his daughter's untimely death.

The New York Jets owner was less than 24 hours into celebrating his team making the football playoffs when his estranged 30-year-old daughter was pronounced dead on Jan. 4. While the team has been on a tear—and is now one game from the Super Bowl—the loss has been tearing him apart.

"It's two different worlds," he said in a press conference yesterday, according to the New York Post. "One doesn't help the other. The other is reality—I lost a daughter."

His eyes reportedly filled with tears as he continued.

"There's no way to bring her back. I wish I could change it, but I can't. This has been a brutal couple of weeks personally," he confessed. "I think of [Casey's death] all the time. It's been a seesaw in terms of [grieving and] the business of the team."

Woody managed to support his team and travel to Cincinnati just days after Casey's death. When his Jets clobbered the Bengals, head coach Rex Ryan presented him with the game ball.

"When I got that ball, that was just too many things hitting me at once," Johnson said. "When you have a major loss, you have to show your emotions."

We assume he means in life, as well as in sports.
