Josh Duhamel surprised wife Fergie with a vow renewal celebration on the eve of their first anniversary Friday night—proving their much-scrutinized marriage is still going strong.
E! News chatted with Duhamel Saturday night while he was promoting his new film, When in Rome, and the actor confirmed the happy news, saying: "It's always fun to surprise her and do things she doesn't know are coming." The pair flew to ritzy California beach town Santa Barbara to renew their vows in a private ceremony, followed by a scenic helicopter ride along the coast.

Duhamel tells E! News he was inspired by the annual vow renewals of fellow lovebirds Heidi Klum and Seal, saying his wife loved the idea when she heard about their tradition.
Only two months ago, the famous duo's marriage was tested when an Atlanta-area stripper claimed to have had a relationship with Duhamel. The actor vehemently denied the allegations, and the Black Eyed Peas' leading lady declined to comment.
Most recently, the pair shared a very public New Year's Eve kiss in Miami, sending another message of wedded bliss to naysayers.
