Now we may never know who Jon Gosselin would bring as his Emmy date…

Jon & Kate Plus 8 rated zero Emmy nominations, as the awards show's reality categories were dominated by somewhat more functional fare, including The Amazing Race, American Idol and Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List.

In the Reality Competition category, perennial winner The Amazing Race will try to stick it again to Idol, Dancing With the Stars, Project Runway and Top Chef. All are repeat nominees from last year.

In the far-flung Outstanding Reality Program race, My Life on the D-List, comic Kathy Griffin's two-time winner, will go up against the sedate Antiques Roadshow, the occassionally sedated Intervention, the always smelly Dirty Jobs, the myth-busting MythBusters and the puppy-powered Dog Whisperer.

MythBusters and Dog Whisperer are new to the category.

Even though his show hasn't lost since 2003, Amazing Race's Phil Keoghan is a first-time nominee as reality host. His competition: DWTS's Tom Bergeron, Idol's Ryan Seacrest, Project Runway's Heidi Klum, Survivor's Jeff Probst and the Top Chef duo of Padma Lakshmi and Tom Colicchio.

All but Keoghan and the Top Chef two are repeat nominees (as well as, with the snubbed Howie Mandel, last year's Emmy hosts). Probst is the defending champ.
