Pete Wentz has found himself a cause.

Out to show he's more than just another emo-rocking, Twitter-happy celeb, the Fall Out Boy frontman has taken to the Internet to raise awareness about—of all things—the urgent problem of child soldiers in Uganda.

Wentz writes in the Huffington Post that he got motivated after watching the film Invisible Children: Rough Cut about homeless kids in the African country abducted and forced to fight by rebel leaders.

"It was one of those times in my life where I was given a choice—continue ignoring the issue because it wasn't in front of me, or forget about myself and do something," he writes, urging people to participate in an April 25 event to bring attention to the plight of child soldiers.

Wentz says he plans to be at a rally in Washington, D.C., and asks fans to check out the site therescue.invisiblechildren.com and help make a difference.

"Since becoming a dad, I've been thinking about the kind of world my kid is going to grow up in," he writes, referring to his and wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz's young son, Bronx.

"I think this generation has a bad rap...But I never lost hope in us, because we're still standing on the shoulders of great leaders, we've got the resources, the knowledge, and the iPhone to do anything. The only generation to ever change America's course—I mean really break the chain, were the youth."
