Wynonna Judd Schools Kanye West on Swifty Apologies
For all the love Taylor Swift receives from the music industry and elsewhere, she has a rather vocal handful of detractors.
Kanye West's giant diss was the talk of the CMA Awards Wednesday night, but he wasn't the only person who questioned the starlet's success.
"It's too much too soon," Wynonna Judd told USA Today of Swift's numerous nominations, especially the one for Entertainer of the Year (which she won, along with three other gongs). "Time is God’s way of keeping everything from happening at once. It’s just too much of a good thing too soon."
But comparisons of the hip-hopper and country star's comments end there.
Judd didn't blog an all-caps opus of a disingenuous apology, delete it and try again. And we're guessing she won't be appearing on a talk show crying and announcing a break from the spotlight.
Instead, she wrote a short and sweet note on her website.
"I understand that my comment about Taylor Swift's Entertainer of the Year nomination came across as a negative statement," she says. "My intent was not to take anything away from her talent and contributions to the country music industry...all of which are truly unprecedented for an artist of ANY age. Taylor is a beautiful, hard working young woman that deserves the success she has had and I support her as an artist and as a woman in the business."
Yeezy, are you paying attention?

Julianne Hough Still Dancing With Chuck Wicks?
UPDATE: Julianne has confirmed that she and Chuck have entered the just-friends zone.
"We're both just really, really busy with our careers, and we spend a lot of time apart from each other, so we're just taking a little break right now, she tells People. "Honestly, Chuck and I are such good friends—we still hang out all the time, and we're still writing together."
________
Just 24 hours earlier, sources close to the couple were telling Since we've already learned that hand-holding equals a hot and heavy relationship, we'll have to apply that new rule to people who aren't in vampire movies as well.
Despite reports that 21-year-old Dancing With the Stars hottie Julianne Hough and her 30-year-old country boy Chuck Wicks had called it quits, the handsome pair may still be together.
And how do we know?
Because they were totally holding hands at the CMA Awards last night!
Did Carrie Underwood Pull a Kanye at the CMA Awards?
Taylor Swift was already off the stage when it happened, but...
Did Carrie Underwood try to steal some of her thunder at the 43rd Annual CMA Awards?
"How 'bout that?" marveled cohost Brad Paisley after Swift accepted the night's top honor, Entertainer of the Year. "Nineteen years old...Congratulations, Taylor. What a night. I can't even imagine a better—"
"And how were we? We were awesome!" interrupted Underwood, who sang and changed clothes 10 times, but lost out to the 19-year-old Swift for Female Vocalist of the Year.
And the show pretty much ended with that.
Remember when Faith Hill had to defend the so-called ticked-off look on her face when Underwood beat her out for the same award back in 2006?
Is this like that, or did the intentional hilarity of the moment get lost in translation?

Taylor Swift Topples Carrie and Kenny for Best in Show at CMA Awards
When you're 19 and a whole association tells you they love you, you ought to believe them.
A certain awkward moment Taylor Swift had at the 2009 VMAs turned into a distant memory when she finally got some time to herself at the 43rd Annual Country Music Association Awards, some of which came at the end of the night when she unseated four-time winner Kenny Chesney for Entertainer of the Year honors.
"I will never forget this moment because, in this moment, everything I have ever wanted has just happened to me," an emotional Swift, the first woman to win the award since Shania Twain in 1999, said before inviting the members of her band onstage to share the spotlight with her.
And all that Joe Jonas heartbreak turned out to be worth it, because her spunky sophomore effort Fearless, rife with breakup tunes, was named Album of the Year.

Can Taylor Swift Crack CMA Awards Glass Ceiling?
UPDATE: Taylor Swift's early wake up call paid off.
Just in case her Christmas-harkening Twitter response didn't accurately convey her excitement and surprise at receiving four CMA nominations, Swift posted a (dare we say adorable) video of her first-hand reaction to hearing about her nods this morning.
"To country radio and the fans and anybody who voted for the CMAs this year, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you," the pajama-clad crooner said after watching the nominations unfold on Good Morning America.
"This is like one of the best days ever. I know I say that too much."
________
Taylor Swift may not have walked away with the most Country Music Association Award nominations this morning, but she did walk away with the most impressive nod.
While Brad Paisley emerged as the clear chicken-fried frontrunner of the CMAs, amassing a leading seven nominations, the teen songbird had the distinction of becoming the first female solo artist in nine years—and youngest nominee ever—to make the cut in the male-dominated field of Entertainer of the Year, the show's highest honor.
(The award is not to be confused with the ACMs' Entertainer of the Year Award, a glass ceiling shattered by Carrie Underwood earlier this year.)
