Cate Blanchett Caught in a Giant Spiderweb En Route to the Red Carpet

Did the Blue Jasmine star have a run-in with a cobweb on her way to the premiere?

Well this is awkward. Cate Blanchett got all dressed for the Paris red carpet premiere of Blue Jasmine, and then promptly walked into a giant, black spider web. At least the bottom of her tulle and silk dress was saved...

Obviously that not exactly the case, but Woody Allen's latest leading lady certainly looks like she had a hug session with Spider-man in this Christopher Kane dress. In fact the designer must have had that in mind when he created this wild web wear.

We're usually of the opinion that Cate the Great can do no wrong (especially after seeing her as the mentally unstable "Jasmine" in her latest film), but this Halloween-themed attire isn't working as well as her typical wears. Yes, the "lace" detail is intricate, and the black on cream against her peaches and cream skin is stunning, but it makes this beauty look far too scary.

We do recommend someone save this look for an upcoming superhero flick. Maybe for Spider-man's evil step-sister? Cate Blanchett could play that part in her sleep.
