No doubt, 2010 was the year Lea Michele became a household name. The Glee star saw her role as the ambitious Rachel Berry break away from the rest of the pack during the show's second season. And now with a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy or Musical, her career is really starting to take off.
Not only did the actress enjoy the massive success of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I—the flick made more than $275 million at the box office—she landed roles in high-profile flicks like My Week With Marilyn and expanded her modeling career with the label Burberry.
The former Golden Girl burst back onto the scene with a new TV show, Hot in Cleveland, some hilarious commercial appearances and a hosting gig on SNL after a grassroots movement of supporters said they wanted more Betty in their lives. Can she top it in 2011?
It was a year of both incredible highs (An Oscar win! Bringing baby Louis home!) and difficult lows for the actress (her divorce to Jesse James). But in the end, the good clearly outweighed the bad, which she handle with remarkable grace.
Talk about a musical powerhouse. The Biebs' album My World 2.0 not only debuted at No. 1 when it hit the charts, it made Justin the youngest solo act to top the charts since Stevie Wonder back in 1963. It went on to sell more than 2 million, and with a world tour and a slew of awards, it'll be hard to top this success next year.
This year was definitely dreamlike for the singer. Not only did her album, Teenage Dream, debut at No. 1 and go on to sell millions of copies around the world, she also tied the knot with her hubby Russell Brand in a lavish ceremony in India. Definitely a year worth celebrating.
Not only did she share in the huge success of Eclipse, the third Twilight installment, which brought in more than $300 million at the box office, she effectively broke out of her role as Bella Swan with two other well-received flicks. Stewart's appearances in Welcome to the Rileys and The Runaways were both praised by critics and audiences and earned her the runner-up spot in our Celeb of the Year tournament.
