PECAN PRELINES
- 1 BOX OF PILLSBURY YELLOW CAKE MIX
- 1 PK OF PECAN PIECES
- 1 PINT OF HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM
- 1 BOX OF GOLDEN BROWN SUGAR
- 1 STICK OF BUTTER
- (MAKE THE CAKE MIX ACCORDING TO THE RECIPE ON BACK OF BOX)
- MELT DOWN 1 STICK OF BUTTER AND HALF A BOX OF BROWN SUGAR AND 3OZ. OF
HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM (SHOULD TASTE LIKE CARAMEL)
- IN A RECTANGLE PAN POUR CARAMEL WITH PECAN PIECES ON TOP(SPRINKLE MOST
IN THE MIDDLE) POUR CAKE MIX ON TOP(IT MAY NOT COVER THE WHOLE PAN BUT THE MIX WILL
SPREAD AS ITS BAKING)
- LET IT COOL DOWN FOR ABOUT 10-15MINS
- FLIP CAKE OVER ONTO A FLAT TRAY AND LET COOL DOWN ALL THE WAY
- IN A MIXING BOWL GET WHIPPING CREAM WITH A LITTLE SUGAR. BEAT UNTIL ITS LIKE WHIPPED CREAM AND SPREAD ACROSS THE TOP OF CAKE
GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE
- PREHEAT OVEN 350F
- 1 PKG (4OZ) SWEET CHOCOLATE
- 1/2 CUP OF WATER
- 2 CUPS OF FLOUR
- 1 TSP. BAKING SODA
- 1/4 TSP. SALT
- 2 STICKS OF SOFTEND BUTTER
- 2 CUPS OF SUGAR
- 4 EGGS SEPERATED
- 1 TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT
- 1 CUP OF BUTTERMILK
- LINE BOTTOM OF 3(9 INCH) ROUND CAKE PANS WITH WAX PAPER AND GREASE SIDES OF PAN IN A LARGE BOWL TAKE CHOCOLATE AND WATER AND HEAT IN MICROWAVE FOR ABOUT 1 1/2-2 MINS, UNTIL CHOCOLATE IS COMPLETELY MELTED
- IN A LARGE BOWL MIX FLOUR, BAKING SODA AND SALT AND SET ASIDE. BEAT BUTTER AND SUGAR WITH MIXER ON MEDIUM SPEED UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY, ADD EGG YOLKS (1 AT A TIME) BEATING WELL AFTER EACH ONE. STIR IN CHOCOLATE AND VANILLA. ADD FLOUR TO MIXTURE ALONG WITH BUTTERMILK, BEAT UNTIL WELL BLENDED
- IN A LARGE BOWL BEAT EGG WHITES WITH MIXER ON HIGH UNTIL STIFF PEAKS FORM. GENTLY STIR INTO BATTER. POUR EVENLY INTO PANS
- BAKE FOR 30MINS OR UNTIL DONE. IMMEDIATELY RUN SPATULA BETWEEN CAKE AND SIDE OF PANS, COOL FOR 15MINS. REMOVE CAKE LAYERS FROM PANS. REMOVE WAX PAPER. COOL COMPLETEY ON RACK
- FROSTING:
- 1 CAN EVAPORATED MILK
- 1-1/2 CUPS OF SUGAR
- 1-1/2 STICKS OF BUTTER OR MARGARINE
- 4 EGG YOLKS, SLIGHTLY BEATEN
- 1-1/2 TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT
- 2-2/3 PKG COCONUT
- 1-1/2 CUPS OF CHOPPED PECANS
- IN A LARGE PAN MIX SUGAR, BUTTER, EGG YOLKS AND VANILLA. COOK ON MEDIUM HEAT FOR 12MINS OR UNTIL THICK AND GOLDEN BROWN, STIR CONTINUEOUSLY ADD COCONUTS AND PECANS, MIX WELL AND COOL.. SPREAD ONTOP AND BETWEEN LAYERS OF CAKE
