Seacrest In?
Tony Duran / FOX
According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Ryan Seacrest recently met with NBC executives to discuss the possibility of him replacing Matt Lauer as the next anchor on the Today show when Lauer's contract is up next year. But in an interesting twist, insiders seem to believe that Matt wants to stay. I applaud Ryan's ambition, but nobody puts Matt Lauer in a corner. See: Kanye West. Plus Ryan has a lot of jobs already. And that's coming from someone who has a lot of jobs. I don't know if he's afraid he'll never work again or something, but maybe just open a savings account. Take some down time. I'll admit that Ryan is a good host, but I'm not positive that he'd handle the more serious topics on the Today show the way that Matt Lauer does. It's generally frowned upon to discuss the Republican primaries by saying things like "Mitt Romney...you are in the bottom two." Chuy was more concerned about this than I was when he heard the rumor. But he calmed down when he realized Ryan Seacrest was not taking a job as an actual anchor, which Chuy is currently in the running for.
