Prepare yourselves, Vampire Diaries fans.

"It's a really sad episode," executive producer Julie Plec says of tonight's outing of TVD. And after screening the episode, we can totally corroborate Plec's statement.

While the episode is tinged in sadness, there is a '20s-themed decade dance going on to lighten the mood, at least for a little while. So yes, this hour of TVD really does have everything going for it, including romance, heartbreak and some laughs, including a few that might make you cry.

The Vampire Diaries fan favorite has found herself caught between boyfriend Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Original bad boy Klaus (Joseph Morgan) on the hit CW drama. Silly little high schoolers on The Vampire Diaries, don't you know dances are for deaths? 

Three seasons in and the CW hit stills loves itself some good ol' drama at a decade dance and season three's '20s-themed fiesta in episode 20 looks to be no different, judging from these hot sneak-peek photos of the April 26 episode.

On the menu? Some angst between Caroline (Candice Accola) and the two hybrids in her life, Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan), plus some tears from Elena (Nina Dobrev) who turns to one Salvatore brother for a shoulder to cry on.
