Exclusive Details: Sex and the City's Mario Cantone Marries His "Good Man"

Liza Minnelli wasn't there, but it sounds like a fabulous time was had by all anyway.
Sex and the City star Mario Cantone and his partner of 20 years, musical theater director Jerry Dixon, tied the knot in New York—where same-sex marriage was legalized in June—earlier this month, Cantone confirmed Friday to E! News.
"We got married on October 5th, on the rooftop of our home with the Empire State building shimmering in the background," the 51-year-old funnyman exclusively tells us.
So what inspired the already committed duo to make things official now (besides the whole longtime-coming-recognition-of-their-civil-liberties thing, that is)?

Like any men worth their membership into the gay club, we adore Sex and the City.
Which is why we're itching for another fixin' of Sarah Jessica Parker's delish TV series turned movie. So naturally, we momentarily got our hopes up when we heard that the gals might be returning to our boob tubes. But alas, that's so not the case.
So we gotta wonder: How do you want your SATC served to ya next?
So True? So False? Is Sex and the City Really Returning to TV?!

There have been many pretenders to the throne (hey there, Gossip Girl. Hiya, Lipstick Jungle). But when it comes to definitive female-centric series, there was ever only one Sex and the City.
And now maybe two.
Word fresh from the British tabloids is that Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, along with showrunner and film legacy ruiner Darren Starr, got so peeved at the prospect of an SATC prequel that they're joining forces to stop it the only way they can: by saturating the market and delivering—after quite a hiatus—the seventh season of a show nobody asked for, but would surely watch. (C'mon on, admit it).

While Sex and the City proved to be gold for Kim Cattrall, that doesn't mean she wants back on regular series television.
"I'm having such a good time being footloose and fancy free and not having to check in and say, 'Is it OK if I do this or do that?'" she told me the other day while promoting her new ad campaign for I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. "There's no mom and pop standing over me. I enjoy that."

There's a new little man in Cynthia Nixon's life.
The Sex and the City star's partner, Christine Marinoni, gave birth yesterday to the couple's new baby boy, Nixon's rep confirms to E! News.
So how'd they do on the name?

Blake Lively is ready to walk a mile in the Manolos of one of the most iconic fashionistas to ever grace our screens. Or is she?
Here's the deal: Candace Bushnell has penned a second (yes, second) prequel to Sex and the City—this one titled Summer in the City, which follows Carrie Bradshaw as she moves, at 19, from Connecticut to New York—and producer extraordinaire Michael Patrick King is, according to Grazia, itching to redeem himself for the hot mess that was SATC 2 by bringing a younger, more inexperienced Carrie back to the big screen.
And Blake is apparently the only girl for the job.
Obviously, the Chanel ambassador and Gossip Girl star has both the sartorial heft and acting chops to pull off such a role, and we can't think of anyone better suited to play a younger version of Sarah Jessica Parker Carrie.
