Prosecutors Want to Lock Conrad Murray Away, Defense Seeks Wrist Slap

Conrad Murray may not be "mentally prepared" for jail, but prosecutors are trying to send him there regardless, and for the maximum amount of time possible.
In advance of Murray's sentencing next Tuesday, prosecutors asked a judge to sentence Michael Jackson's former doctor to four years in prison for his involuntary manslaughter conviction.
Meanwhile, in a separate court filing Wednesday, defense attorneys for Murray asked that he only receive probation.
So, what did both sides have to say?

In the documents, prosecutors David Walgren and Deborah Brazil said Murray has shown no remorse for Jackson's death and has blamed others instead for his passing, particularly the King of Pop himself.
They also submitted interviews to the judge that Murray had given post-trial for evidence that he should receive the maximum sentence as well.
In one interview, Murray reportedly says, "I don't feel guilty because I did not do anything wrong."
And the maximum jail sentence isn't the only thing the prosecution is seeking.

Attorneys also attached a statement of monetary losses to their motion that exceeded $100 million due to Jackson's death.
But, the defense begged to differ.
Defense attorney Nareg Gourjian cited positive letters from Murray's former patients and said, "There is no question that the death of his patient, Mr. Jackson, was unintentional and an enormous tragedy for everyone affected. Dr. Murray has been described as a changed, grief-stricken man, who walks around under a pall of sadness since the loss of his patient, Mr. Jackson."
