X Factor's Stacy Francis Weighs In On Bloodbath: "It Became About Nicole's Ego"

Stacy Francis, X Factor Frank Micelotta / FOX
More from Marc Malkin

Stacy Francis had a habit of crying when she was performing—or just talking, for that matter—when she was competing on The X Factor.

However, she's not exactly shedding that many tears over Simon Cowell's massive bloodbath yesterday that left Steve Jones, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger cut from season two.

Who Just Won The X Factor?!

More from Watch with Kristin

It was a $5 million night for one lucky singer—and we're not talking Justin Bieber's appearance fee!

The first season of The X Factor on these shores came to a close Thursday with the usual two-hour, star-studded extravaganza, made a little bit cozier and au courant than usual by all the Christmas music.

As you might expect, Melanie Amaro channeled Mariah Carey on "All I Want for Christmas Is You," Josh Krajcik took everyone to church with "Please Come Home for Christmas" and—unexpectedly—Chris Rene left the hip-hop behind and went full crooner on "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

Judy Garland would have been proud, sure, but the aspiring star who's going to be having the merriest Christmas ever this weekend...

The X Factor Final: Did Melanie, Josh and Chris (or Alanis and Avril) Give $5 Million Performances?

Chris Rene, Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik, THE X FACTOR Ray Mickshaw / FOX
More from Watch with Kristin

It all ends tomorrow, but first, the top three contestants had to shine tonight.

And, theoretically, the judges had to refrain from killing each other.

Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene successfully managed to put all distractions—like biased knocks from the judges and the questions of whether Nicole Scherzinger is doing a good enough job judging or whether Steve Jones is a proper host—aside and make the finals of the inaugural U.S. season of The X Factor.

"It's going to be the closest final we've ever had," Simon Cowell predicted before they started singing—never mind that "we've" never had an X Factor final before...but we get what he meant.

So who gave a $5 million performance tonight?

Why Were the Cops at Paula Abdul's House?!

Yikes! Are all those death threats against Paula Abdul over a recent X Factor elimination starting to hit too close to home?

The X Factor Elimination: A Major Upset or Business as Usual?

The X Factor, Top 4, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro, Marcus Canty, Chris Rene Frank Micelotta / FOX
More from Watch with Kristin

Nicole Scherzinger had no reason to fret tonight—the elimination was entirely out of her hands.

Only the fans' votes counted toward which three contestants made it into The X Factor's final round next week, no input from the judges necessary.

And based on what happened last week, we couldn't just assume that the competition's "three-time bottom-two champion," as L.A. Reid kept putting it yesterday, was just going to disappear into the night.

The X Factor Semifinals: Nicole Gets Booed, Then the Real Battle Begins

Good thing for Nicole Scherzinger that those boos are making her stronger.

"I haven't seen her," Simon Cowell said of last week's The X Factor castoff, Rachel Crow, whose explosive exit made for one of the memorable ousters we've seen. "But she's a fighter, she's a survivor. And she's not at the mercy of these two anymore," he added, pointing to Nicole and Paula Abdul, "so she's fine."

Cue the boos for Nicole, whose reluctance to send anyone home left Rachel at the mercy of...well, America. Which is where she would have been anyway if she had made it to tonight's semifinal round, after which only the fans' votes determine who moves on to next week's two-night finale.

"Rachel, I have nothing but love for her, and, you know what?" Nicole said. "God is good, and I got nothing but love and light tonight! And it's rock 'n' roll time, and it's about these contestants!"

Indeed it is. So how did they do?
