No, Batman isn't taking on the 1 percent. But he's not too far off.

Christopher Nolan's hugely anticipated The Dark Knight Rises took the real Gotham City by storm over the weekend, fllming a chaotic battle scene near Wall Street.

And by the look of the footage and photos that have leaked out from the set, it's safe to say our titular hero (Christian Bale) has met his match in the form of pumped-up baddie Bane (Tom Hardy)—with a speedy assist from Catwoman (Anne Hathaway).

Check it out...

It wouldn't be a Nolan movie without some serious action sequences and, as as the climax to his Caped Crusader trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises appears to deliver on that score. Some of the new video reveals a bird's-eye view of the brawl between Bane's gang and Gotham's Finest with Batman in the vanguard. Keep an eye on the center of the action for the redesigned Batmobile plus two more Tumblers!

During the fracas, Selina "Catwoman" Kyle (here played by Hathaway's stunt double) gets in on the action, riding a vehicle that looks suspiciously like the Batpod. Lets hope this feline manuevered through the crowd more easily than on the Pittsburgh set, when she had a literal run-in with a camera.

Finally.  We get a good look at Matthew Modine's corrupt cop character, Nixon, rumored to be a key villain in the film.

At the end of the day, moviemaking is simply playing pretend. And by the look of this vid, the actors who took part in this complex shoot seem to be having a pretty good time.

The director, alongside Modine, is seen here hard at work. We can't wait to see the results.

The Dark Knight Rises storms into theaters on July 12, 2012.
