More Chris Brown Fallout—Tom Bergeron Waltzes Out of DWTS Interview With Mr. Meltdown

Now this here's some fancy footwork. Turns out, not everyone over at ABC is in Chris Brown suck-up mode (hey, whatever it takes to get another GMA ratings surge, right?).

Dancing With the Stars host and calls-it-like-he-sees-it truthball Tom Bergeron is making it pretty clear how he feels about the window-smashing, shirt-eschewing troublemaker's planned stop on the parquet tomorrow night.

So, take it away, Tom!

Dropping by our very own Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show, Bergeron confirmed that the R&B star—who proved to be his comeback's own worst enemy last week—would be performing as planned on tomorrow night's elimination show, and was even "rehearsing when last I was at the studio."

When Seacrest mentioned that there had been a bit of controversy surrounding Brown's appearance, Bergeron—at first, anyway—tried to toe the party line.

"Has there? Really? I didn't hear anything," the coy-playing host said. "Of course, my windows are soundproof."

But are they shatterproof, Tom?!

"Here's the thing," he went on, when asked if he would have the chance to interview the anger-mismanaging artist. "I did say to the producers that it might be to their advantage to not have me interview him, because my natural tendency would be to say something.

"You know? So don't put me in a position where you're asking me to not say something, 'cause I won't really do that. Even if it's just a snarky little aside, you know, 'How was your week?'"

As much as we'd love to see that, we're guessing producers will take Bergeron at his word and won't hold our breath for any mano-a-mano sound bites.

At least, not unless the proper precautions are taken to ensure a family-friendly interview first.

"They'll probably have me in a Hannibal Lecter suit," Bergeron joked. Now that would be must-see TV!

VIDEO: Chris gave two shirtless performances last week. This one didn't get quite as much press.
