That's one way to let the world know.

Kelsey Grammer's wife, Camille Grammer, filed for divorce Thursday in a Los Angeles court, seeking to end their 13-year union. The Emmy-winning thesp broke the sad news on Twitter.

"Hello everyone thank you for ur support and Yes it's TRUE Camille and I are Divorcing I ask U 2 respect our privacy in these difficult," he tweeted.

His rep followed up with a statement: "Kelsey and Camille value privacy. They understand that private lives sometimes get played out in public but ask on this occasion that their privacy—and the privacy of their children—be respected.

"I would like to add that I know people will be tempted to say some mean things," Grammer continued via Twitter. "I realize that it is human nature but I ask that you be particularly sensitive to the feelings of my wife. She has been a terrific partner for many years and should not be treated with any disrespect at this time. Things fell apart between us. That is all. She is still the mother of my children and any disparagement of her will only hurt the children. Camille did not want this but has made a very difficult decision and I respect her for it. I appreciate your kindness for all parties in this matter."

According to the petition, Grammer's missus (née Donatacci) cited irreconcilable differences and is seeking primary physical custody of the couple's 8-year-old daughter, Mason, and 5-year-old son, Jude, in addition to child and spousal support.

This marks the third go-round at marriage for the actor.

The 55-year-old Grammer and 41-year-old Donatacci, a former Club MTV dancer and Playboy model, met on a blind date back in 1996 and tied the knot a year later.

While Kelsey remains hard at work starring in Broadway's revival of La Cage Aux Folles, Mrs. Grammer is part of the cast of Bravo's new reality series, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

No word how they'll divvy up their possessions. The pair own homes in New York, Colorado, Malibu and Maui.
