'Tis the season...for Oscar predictions!
And since our fave race of the Academy Awards is (duh!) the Best Actress slot, we decided to narrow down which par-tick babes we think will make the tough cut. Now that we've analyzed the SAG and Golden Globe noms for further clues, we realize our first hunches were right on target: We've settled on a list that's inspired by such iconic chicks as Marilyn Monroe and Margaret Thatcher.

It's already clear that Hilary Swank has suffered the consequences for attending the birthday bash for Chechnya's president Ramzan Kadyrov—what with axing her reps and getting dropped by her PR company—and the actress has already apologized for her actions, but there's more.
The 37-year-old actress explained the whole situation in Gotham magazine's recent issue (which also has Swank on the cover).
"In this case, a Turkish real estate company invited me to help promote peace by celebrating the rebuilding of a war-torn city and meeting people who were rebuilding their lives," she told the mag in an interview.

She might've tried to clear her image by letting go of her reps, but Hilary Swank is still facing the harsh consequences of attending a party for Chechen President (and alleged human rights violator) Ramzan Kaydrov.
A source close to Swank's PR firm, 42West, confirms to E! News that they decided to split from the two-time Oscar winner.
