Gene Hackman Hit by Car, Airlifted to Hospital

A close shave for Gene Hackman today...
The 81-year-old Oscar winner was airlifted to the hospital this afternoon after he was hit by a car while riding his bike in the Florida Keys, Hackman's rep confirmed to E! News.
And how is the Unforgiven star doing now?

We're happy to report that he seems to be just fine!
"Gene was airlifted (because he is on an island) to the hospital for routine tests," his rep said. "Everything is fine and Gene is on his way home now with a few bumps and bruises."
According to TMZ, which first reported the accident, the smashup occurred at around 3 p.m., and the Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
