Daniel Craig, Skyfall 007.com

Foreboding gun wielding? Check. Slick black impeccably bespoke outfit? Check. Abundance of fancy spy technology? Check. Wizened, grizzled mug with de rigueur steely gaze? Double-oh check.

Yep, the pieces are all in place in this first look image of Daniel Craig reprising, for the third time, his role as superspy extraordinaire James Bond in the 23rd installment of the 007 franchise, Skyfall.

Sorry, India, No Girl With the Dragon Tattoo for You

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Columbia Pictures

Looks like India won't be seeing a release of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo after all.

Although the country had announced a Feb. 10 premiere date, turns out the U.S. remake of the Swedish flick starring Daniel Craig and Oscar nominee Rooney Mara won't be allowed to play there. The reason? The film's director, David Fincher, refused to cut scenes demanded by India's Central Board of Film Certification.

Morning Mail! Is Taylor Swift's Latest Performance Being Trashed Before It's Even Begun?

More from The Awful Truth

Dear Ted:
Everyone seems to be pissed about Taylor Swift getting the role in Les Misérables. I'm actually excited. Do you think she can change people's minds? I think the director must have seen talent in her!
Kandy

Dear Slow Down:
The role has not been confirmed, babe. But, if it is, must say a musical acting performance is more up Taylor's alley, than, say, Valentine's Day. I, like you, think she'll do a bang-up job! More people should be open to a Swift musical. Seems such a no-brainer, what's the problem? Lea Michele can't do everything.

Dear Ted:
I have been on a Gossip Girl kick lately, and watching that hunky Ed Westwick has made me think he'd be a wonderful James Bond! He has got the accent, bad ass attitude and the smirk for it. Opinions?

More from red_carpet

Well, hello there!

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz made their first red carpet appearance together at the premiere of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo in Madrid on Wednesday.

And while such a thing isn't normally that big a deal for other celebs, when it comes to these two, it kinda is.

After all, the cute couple has kept things pretty low-key ever since they tied the knot in an equally low-key ceremony way back in June of last year.

But there they were last night, all smiles while posing for pics.

Here's hoping this first time together won't be the last!

Happy New Year—almost!

The last seven days of 2011 pretty much flew by, what with the holiday stand-still and all (no mail, no courts, no Charlie Sheen domestic incident, etc.) and now we are thrilled to bring you the final Week in Review of the year.

Though the news from this past week doesn't bode well for all, we can only guess what 2012 will bring for the stars we love. Not to mention the celebs we love to hate, the celebs who hate each other and the ones who have carved out a little piece of paradise in the spotlight together.

And with that, we bid 2011 adieu...

Daniel Craig Stuart Wilson/Getty Images

So who's got the 43-year-old Craig's endorsement?

More from The Awful Truth

The reviews are in! And they're incredibly mixed.

While some praise the remake, describing David Fincher's flick as "electrifying," others disagree, calling the much-hyped film "not even good rubbish." But even though each critic has a different take, there's one tough chick no one's questioning.

So, what's the scoop on Rooney Mara, and can the gal who some consider the next Kristen Stewart turn The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo into box-office glory?

Movie Review: Steven Spielberg Artfully Embraces His Inner Child in The Adventures of Tintin

The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn Paramount Pictures

Review in a Hurry: The graphic novels by Hergé featuring ginger-coiffed boy detective/reporter Tintin really didn't need to be adapted into any other format. They're perfectly drawn cartoon adventure stories as they are, save perhaps for those that have aged badly in terms of racial stereotyping. But if they absolutely had to be made into a movie, we can be glad it's one that's this much fun.

Movie Review: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Isn't Bad, but David Fincher Could've Done Better

Rooney Mara, Daniel Craig, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Merrick Morton/Columbia TriStar

Review in a Hurry: David Fincher brings a grand visual style to this readaptation of Stieg Larsson's novel, and the Trent Reznor-Atticus Ross score is what you would hope for. Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara are fine in the leads, but when it comes to the actual plot, one does get the feeling that it didn't need to be told again. Newcomers to the story may disagree.
