Cameron Douglas Gets Another Five Years in Prison

Michael Douglas won't be seeing his imprisoned, drug-addled son for a long time to come—unless it's behind Plexiglas.
Saying he's been pampered too long by the justice system, a federal judge in New York on Wednesday threw the book at Cameron Douglas, handing him an additional four-and-a-half years in federal prison, E! News has learned.

Michael Douglas just got our vote for Father of the Year.
Despite debilitating treatment for advanced throat cancer, the Oscar winner has been regularly making the grueling three-hour trip from his Manhattan apartment to Lewisburg, Pa., to visit his imprisoned son, Cameron.
"He's visiting with him as often as he can," Douglas' rep, Allen Burry tells E! News.

For most parents, having a kid in jail would be a total nightmare.
For Michael Douglas, it's a bit like waking up.
The Wall Street actor appeared on the Today show this morning for a frank interview regarding his 31-year-old son Cameron Douglas' recent drug sentence. He's downright hopeful.
"Look, my son was a drug dealer and he's been trying to kill himself for a while and I can't condone his behavior," he told Matt Lauer. "I think the court recognized his drug addiction as well as the crime that he committed. It's an adequate amount of time...to spend in jail, and the best part of it is he will be able to start his life afresh."
