As if Brittany Murphy and her husband's deaths six months apart weren't eerie enough...

Autopsy results for the Clueless star's screenwriter widower, Simon Monjack, reveal that he died of acute pneumonia and severe anemia—nearly the exact same cause of death as Murphy, E! News has learned.

Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter confirmed that while Monjack did have some legal medications in his system, he did not succumb to a prescription drug overdose or multiple drug intoxication; drugs were listed as a contributing factor in Murphy's death.

When he died, Simon Monjack had two children by two different women living in Europe, one in England and one in France, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.

Monjack's family ties were apparently unearthed from info on his personal laptop, which investigators were searching for any record of the bypass-requiring heart problem the Murphy family's publicist said he had.

The universe took the whole "everything happens in threes" adage way too seriously this week, and, sadly, not just because three groundbreaking TV dramas signed off over the past seven days.

Sure we enjoyed watching some big wins on American Idol, Dancing With the Stars and Celebrity Apprentice and continued to celebrate E!'s 20th anniversary with parties and specials and photo galleries galore.
