The search has ended for Morgan Harrington, who went missing following a Metallica concert in October of last year.

Police say they are "fairly confident" that they have found the remains of the 20-year-old college student on a farm near Charlottesville, Va., where she was last seen alive, according to The Roanoke Times.

Harrington attended the concert with friends, but after getting separated, she called them to say she was outside the arena, couldn't get back in and would try to find another way home.

Her phone and purse were found the next day in the parking lot of the venue.

The venerable metal band pledged $50,000 to aid in her return, adding to the $100,000 reward offered by her parents, who also set up a website, FindMorgan.com.

A police spokesman says the search for the killer or killers will continue.

"We have always treated this as a homicide," said Lt. Joe Rader at a news conference. "We still proceed as if this was a homicide, and most likely will be a homicide."
