Whitney Houston's death was the biggest story of the night, as the singer's passing hung over the entire affair. But the show went on, and the night had its share of ups, downs and clowning around from the likes of Adele, Nicki Minaj, Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry and more.
So let's get to the best, the worst and the rest right now:

The Modern Family juggernaut swept up the first four awards in the show, virtually ensuring that all that sweet goodwill for the show would pretty much be gone by the first commercial break.
But hey, there was still plenty of good times to come: Cameo-crazy songs, Michael Bolton-busting dances and whatever was going to happen when Charlie Sheen addressed the Two and a Half Men cast.
Look, we're just happy to see Jon Hamm on TV again. Even doing finger pistols.

Hollywood's Super Bowl was supposed be a match-up between Colin Firth and The King's Speech versus the nerds billionaire boys of The Social Network, with some gimmes involving Christian Bale thrown in.

Well, unlike charitable telethons or testimony before a Senate subcommittee, the Screen Actors Guild Awards are supposed to be all about the actors, whether we're talking Colin Firth or Jon Hamm or Natalie Portman or Tina Fey or that salty old broad Betty White.
