Did Andy Dick pull a Jim Morrison...or did he just pull a leg?

That's what police at the University of North Florida are investigating after concertgoers complained the NewsRadio star exposed himself during a comedy show there Saturday night.

Chief Gene Owen said preliminary evidence suggests a drawers-dropping Dick only appeared to flash the Jacksonville, Florida, audience--as he was clad in a flesh-colored body stocking. Others say that body stocking or no, no key, er, machinery was exposed.

Owen says he hopes to wrap up the probe by Wednesday. Dick has not been interviewed--and won't be, the chief said, unless the department begins to suspect wrongdoing.

Dick's publicist did not return calls for comment today.

The incident comes just weeks before the 30th anniversary of Florida's most infamous exposure flap. It was on March 1, 1969, that Doors singer Jim Morrison was busted on a Miami stage for making like a Dick. Unlike the sitcom star, though, absolutely no body stockings were used. Morrison was convicted on the charge in 1970.

The Dick controversy occurred at about 8 p.m. Saturday as he was wrapping up a twin-bill concert with Suddenly Susan comrade Kathy Griffin at the campus' The Arena. Following his set, police said, Dick left the stage, went up in the stands and, in the presence of 10-15 people, made himself feel quite comfortable.

According to a report, the stunt cost Dick about two-thirds of his audience.

College officials were not amused, either. They described themselves as "extremely displeased" with Dick's behavior.

The "vulgar language" and "sexual innuendo" featured in the act "exceeded even the flexible boundaries of decency normally anticipated for a college audience," said student affairs vice president Roland Buck in a statement.

Buck is seeking a clause in future entertainer contracts that would "jeopardize" paychecks to artists who "engage in lewd and lascivious behavior" at the college.

Dick, 33, plays hapless Matthew Brock on the NBC sitcom. Last March, the party hardy lifestyle led him to enter a rehab clinic.
