Katherine Jackson's temporary restraining order against Trent Jackson has been dismissed with prejudice.

According to court documents obtained by E! News, the dismissal was entered Tuesday afternoon after attorneys for both Katherine and Trent met in a Los Angeles courtroom.

In today's court session, Katherine's legal team argued that at the time Michael Jackson's mom filed the TRO, "she was not prepared for a full-fledged trial." They were hoping to have the case dismissed without prejudice because she "wants to take a step back with these matters and see if she can resolve these issues privately."

Ultimately, the judge ordered the case to be dismissed with prejudice.

After the dismissal, Trent's attorneys including Ron Rale—who brought in criminal defense attorney Phillip Cohen for the case—reacted to the news.

"Were happy about it. But honestly poor Katherine who had to go through this whole proceeding, which is baseless. Trent's got to rebuild his life now. It's not like he's back in her employment, but at least this is behind him. He's a good guy, he'll figure this out," Trent's attorneys shared. "Trent always says he is truly hurt by this... he's genuine, he misses his aunt. Now what does this do to him? It's not like it puts him back in her life but he would like nothing better."

"This is a guy who was hired by Michael to take care of his mom," they continued. "Michael trusted her with Trent for good reason and he has been taking care of Katherine since 2004."

Back in February 2017, Katherine was granted a temporary restraining order against her nephew by a Los Angeles judge.

Court documents obtained by E! News alleged that Trent "has manipulated Mrs. Jackson so much, and preyed on her known kindness, that whenever the police arrive or efforts to press elder abuse charges have been undertaken, she ultimately recants or changes her mind."

The legal team on behalf of Katherine further stated in documents that she "will have moments of strength, and tell her kids that Trent is abusing her, and by the time they get Adult Protections Services to the house, he has convinced her by crying or begging not to report him, and the cycle starts all over."
