The New TV Housewife to Rival All Real Housewives

The Bravolebrities have nothing on Imposters'trickster

Bloop and goodbye! There's a new housewife in town and she's here to steal all your money. Luckily it's only on TV.

Executives at Bravo already have a successful franchise on their hands with Real Housewives, which features larger than life "characters" we haven't been able to stop watching for the past decade. But they've kicked it up a notch with new scripted series Imposters, a mystery drama that explores what would happen if a Housewife-like character went rogue. Let's just say we wouldn't be entirely surprised if art imitated life and a few select Housewives really did scam their significant others.

The Last Ship actress Inbar Lavi stars as Maddie, a master con-artist who tricks both men and women to fall in love with her, then stealthily disappears with their money and just enough dirt to blackmail them into never going to the police. Clearly the type of woman you want to take home to your parents. In the pilot, viewers get a glimpse into Maddie's recent wedding to Ezra (Rob Heaps), only to discover along with her new hubby that his seemingly sweet wife just swindled him from all his funds. Hence the intense car freakout in the video.

Luckily (or maybe not so luckily), Ezra finds out that "Maddie" has pulled this con on others too, including ex Richard (Parker Young) and her wife Jules (Marianne Rendón), so the unlikely trio team up to track her down and find out who Maddie truly is. Oh and revenge. They obviously seek revenge like any good Real Housewives star.

But compared to Maddie, we'll gladly take the Teresa Giudices or Kenya Moores or Brandi Glanvilles of the world. Watching a video of your supposed wife saying, "You will never see me again" is not the way to end things. In saying that, let's just review all the 96 Real Housewives who are much better in comparison to Maddie... but that doesn't mean we won't be watching her every move this season. We'll just be glad she's not real.
