Get ready for Christmas with the Pearsons!

This Is Us' first-ever Christmas episode airs tonight on NBC, and keeping with NBC's new hit show's tradition, it'll make you laugh, cry and swoon—especially at Christmastime.

In E! News' exclusive sneak peek, which is set in 1989, the family finds themselves at the hospital on Christmas Eve after little Kate comes down with appendicitis, and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) has to think quick to find a way to reassure her daughter that she will be OK. The answer? Christmas magic, of course.

"This branch has Christmas magic on it," Rebecca tells a scared young Kate of a branch she pulls from the hospital's garland. "Nothing bad ever happens on Christmas Eve."

Anyone else have chills? 'Cause we do, but for multiple reasons. 1. The way Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) looks at Rebecca after she does this. 2. How worried young Kevin and Randall look over their sister's surgery. 3. It feels like something bad might happen on Christmas Eve now that she's said that!

While at the hospital for Kate's surgery, the couple runs into Dr. K, everyone's favorite speech-giving doctor who delivered the twins in the pilot, who is alone in the hospital and decide to return the favor and be there for him. Everyone together now: awww! In the present, Kate (Chrissy Metz) will continue to pursue her gastric bypass surgery and someone from William's (Ron Cephas Jones) past will return.

And not to be a total downer this holiday season, but this is our last episode of This Is Us until Jan. 10, so savor this one, people.

This Is Us airs tonight at 9 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
