CBSThinking about your parents doing it: the most awkward thing in the world, or THE MOST AWKWARD THING IN THE WORLD OH GOD MAKE IT STOP?
That's what Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) were faced with in the season 10 premiere of The Big Bang Theory, following that—let's call it EVENTFUL—season finale that saw Leonard's dad, Alfred (Judd Hirsch) and Sheldon's mom, Mary (Laurie Metcalf) bang. Maybe. Possibly.
We found out, thankfully for possible stepbrothers Leonard and Sheldon, that nothing actually happened. Sheldon's good Christian mother would never go to bed with someone she just met. But there's a catch: Alfred and Mary plan on seeing each other again, so one of them could potentially still utter the phrase "your genitals are a joy to behold."
Aside from that ickiness, we saw Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard stage a second wedding so their families could share in their special day. Obviously that backfired, considering the potential parental hookup.
We also met Penny's full family for the first time, including her mom, Susan (Katey Sagal) and drug-dealing brother, Randall (Jack McBrayer). Randall was a lot like Kenneth the Page, just a drug dealer. And let's all pause here to respect the 8 Simple Rules reunion that happened this fine evening.
Susan and Penny seemed stressed that everyone would think they were trashy, but it was Leonard's family drama that actually stole the show. (Leonard's mom, Beverly, was not too happy about her ex's potential fling with Mary. And Sheldon was none too pleased about the idea, either—though he and Leonard eventually made up.)
Oh, and Wolowitz might be in trouble, since the government is on the hunt to speak with him about the quantum vortex apparatus.
