Sometimes, you have to be your biggest cheerleader. And in some instances, it's okay to talk it out on social media.

On Tuesday afternoon, MTV announced this year's nominees for the Video Music Awards. Beyoncé led the pack with a whopping 11 nominations for Lemonade. Adele, Ariana Grande and Drake also received at least four nominations of their own.

One artist who was left out of the fun was the one and only Nick Jonas. As soon as the news was revealed, the former Jonas Brothers member took to Twitter to express his sadness over the news.

"Disappointed with the fact 'Close' got no love for the #VMAs2016," he shared on Twitter.

Fortunately, the 23-year-old quickly remembered that he's Nick Jonas and life really isn't so bad at all.

"Actually after thinking about it more there are so many amazing things happening in my life and career. 9 out of 10 boxes are checked..." he wrote on social media. "Won't let this one thing get to me. I'm feeling so inspired and grateful these days. Gonna focus more on caring less about the small stuff."

Nick continued, "Everything is awesome." That certainly isn't an exaggeration.

Throughout the summer, the singer is traveling the country with Demi Lovato for the Honda Civic Tour.

Once Nick takes the stage, fans can expect to hear all of his hits including tracks his latest album Last Year Was Complicated.

"We're very excited to be going out together," Nick recently shared with E! News. "We're great friends, but on top of that, we are great collaborators and business partners so to create a show that really showcases the growth in both of our careers is going to be really exciting."
