Pretty sure the general rule of life is never to leave the Internet in charge of making important decisions. McDonald's broke that rule when, according to Dorkly, they asked people to design virtual burgers on their New Zealand website. "Make Burger History" their site read (before the promotion was taken down due to the shiz show that ensued). That's exactly what the Internet did. From 'burgers' made entirely out of lettuce, mayo and buns (and we don't even mean all three stacked together), people let their foodie freak flag fly. While the site may be no more, the screenshots live on below. Believe it or not, we didn't include the really terrible and naughty ones. Yeah, they got pretty bad. It's not just the burgers, and their titles trolls ran with, it was the names of their creators as well.
You'll notice what we're talking about when you look carefully at the author of each questionable masterpiece. The incentive for the promotion? Free fries and drink for spending a chunk of your life making the Internet even more ridiculous than it already is.
Honestly, this seems a bit suspicious. They had to know this was coming, right? We're curious if this was secretly part of the promotion in some twisted way. Any press is good press, right? Maybe? Probs not. Certain MacDo's now have kiosks in-store where you can create your own crazy burger (like legit you can go wild) but we highly, highly doubt they're going to make you a burger like these anytime soon.
