While we were all busy monitoring the 2016 Emmy Award nominations, Tom Hiddleston was dozing off after a stellar night.

The 35-year-old British native is currently in Australia reprising his role as Loki for Thor: Ragnarok, but that didn't stop him from having some good 'ol fun Wednesday evening when co-star Chris Hemsworth shared a ticket with him to see the Ghostbusters redux starring none other than the the Aussie himself.

"A group of us went to see it. I'd just got home and my phone started exploding," he told Varietyreferencing the news that he had been granted his first Emmy nod for his performance on The Night Manager. "It's been a great day: I got to play on set with Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth, went to see Ghostbusters and then I got nominated for an Emmy."

It's certainly a day we all wish we could have had. Plus, the star reportedly arrived to the movie theater with none other than his new leading lady Taylor Swift along with a handful of his castmates. As for a review of the film, which hits theaters Friday, the actor had nothing short of good things to say. "I loved it! I laughed a lot," Hiddleston admitted to Variety

However, getting his first Emmy nomination—his first major American acting award nod—is no joking matter. While he was recognized as lead actor in a limited series, Hiddleston credited the group's effort for the show's overall success.

"It's such a fantastic affirmation of the team. It was a huge team effort, a great undertaking of 2015 for all of us, so to see all these names nominated, it just feels wonderful," he gushed to the magazine. "It's one of the most fulfilling experiences of my working life and my proudest achievement to date."

One last benefit of his new Emmy nomination was the opportunity to ask the typically private actor the personal question on everyone's mind—is he really dating the "Shake It Off" songstress?

"The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we're very happy," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "Thanks for asking. That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt."
