Watch: Gabrielle Union Loves Dwyane Wade on "ESPN's Body" Cover

Former Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade turned up the temperature with his nude photo shoot in ESPN The Magazine—and his wife, Gabrielle Union, thinks he looked "hot!"

The Being Mary Jane star couldn't stop gushing over the Chicago Bulls player's perfect physique when E! News caught up with her at the magazine's celebration of its eighth annual Body Issue Tuesday night. "That's what I see every day," Union said. "He looks just as good going as he does coming. It's a good time."

Taking it off for the cover was a big deal, but as Wade explained, "It was tastefully done." Still, he confessed, "I was a little bit nervous about it."

When the offer came in to pose naked, the NBA player decided it was now or never. "I'm all about trying different things and getting outside my box," he said. "I said no for multiple, multiple years, but eventually I thought it was cool to be 34 years old and still be asked to be on the cover of this issue."

But why was Wade so nervous initially?

Like most people, he has insecurities about his body. And in the magazine's recently published cover story, Wade acknowledged that some people may look at him and wonder why he would be insecure about his athletic body.

"Well, this is real life and I'm human," he explained, "and these are the things that I deal with that many others might deal with." Wade was most insecure as a child over his outie belly button. In fact, he never wanted to take off his shirt as a child. However, he grew more comfortable with himself over the years and learned to stand in his "naked truth"—which, ironically, is also the tagline of his underwear collection.

Confidence looks good on Wade, who seemed anything but anxious at Tuesday's event. "Dwayne was super friendly as people came up to chat and take photos with him," a fellow partygoer tells E! News. "He was smiling the entire time."
