Surprise! Or not. That thing you had an inkling was going to happen on The Blacklist totally happened in tonight's episode.

As many people posited a few weeks ago when the show allegedly killed off its heroine, Liz Keen (Megan Boone), the FBI agent isn't actually dead after all! The season three finale showed us that Liz actually faked her death during childbirth as a way to escape from Red Reddington (James Spader).

Hey, regardless of whether you saw it coming or not, it's certainly a relief that Liz is alive—although maybe not well—and with a new baby to boot.

The problem she'll have to tackle in season four: escaping from the evil new villain who just kidnapped her (and claims to be her father, too). Oh, and Red knows the truth, so he might have to be the one to save her.

In an interview following the finale's epic reveal(s), Boone told Entertainment Weekly that she's excited for her character's independence—although she doesn't think Red will be out of Liz's life for good.

"I don't foresee a Red-less future for Liz, but I think Red will have a very different woman to deal with at this turning point in the series, and he will be forced to evolve and compensate for her newfound autonomy," she told the magazine.

And yes, she found it very hard to keep secret not only that Liz would die—but that it was also a fakeout. "I both loved and hated having a secret for all that time," Boone said. "It was the first time in my life I've had a huge secret for a really long time and had to keep it from my cast and so many people close to me."
